Hello, I know the stock timing on a ka24e is 15 degrees. I always use 93 octaine gas and advanced the timing to maybe gain some HP and get better millage. I set mine to about 22-24 degrees (It is just a little off the scale).

Is this to much timing for the engine? It idles better then when it was at 15 and does feel to pull a little harder. It has about 150,000 miles with a header, no cat, air intake, and a performance chip. When I changed out the computer back in 1993 it said to use high octaine gas and if I did not I would hear it ping under a load. The computer has a more aggressive map and I think it does increase the timing also.

Can the higher timing damage the engine? Should I leave it or bring it down to 20 degrees?

THANKS

Way too high.

20 is plenty.
