Does any one know how much more displacement you could make on the SR block? I heard, it was 2.2liter boar out of the block is the best. becasue it gives balanced power along the whole rev band? I was wandering if this was true.

if the diplace ment is changed what would you have to do to the intake and exhaust valves would you have to retard them?

2.2 is a stroker kit. it changes the stroke/bore ratio and the engine isn't as smooth as it is in it's 2.0 liter form. As far as retarding/advancing the valves. I would say that they would actually need to be opened for a longer duration to accomodate the extra displacement.

If i had to guess, i'd guess that the best displacement is the one it came with.

the SR is a square motor. meaning the bore = the stroke 86mm x 86mm. altering either number will alter the way the motor revs and makes power.

Cyber and I are in agreeance over this. A square bore stroke should never be changed IMO. It ruins the point of having the SR. If I want a motor with more displacement, I'll turbo a KA.
