You mean without injectors too? Uhm, 4-5 I would say. You may be able to run way lean and do 7, using the MSD to keep from pinging. Seems pointless to me.

Oh, then I would say you could probably pull that off. Just be careful of knock.

Is this a stand alone type program or a device or what?

It's a device that retards timing as boost pressure comes on. The BTM can be set to retard as little as .25 degrees per psi of boost, or as much as 3 degrees per psi of boost. Obviously, you wouldn't do the latter setting.

I think you can do 15psi. If I were you, I'd park the base timing at about 22-25* BTDC, then use the BTM to crank it back to a safe point while boosting. This way, you'll have fantastic low end throttle response and torque.

That's my plan.Use it for 12psi daily and 15 for the little honda(humilation)/track(times)/domestic just to watch their jaw drop

There is a maximum amount of timing retard that the BTM will do. IT is in the instruction booklet.

My procedure per say I went this route:

Set BTM to a known safe setting, something rediculous. Run the car and monitor timing with something that has a timing readout. Then you can fine tune to get timing just right. If you get on the dyno, you could even fine tune when retard starts to keep the car pretty nice on the street. Get a nice arched curve going at the beginning.hehe

so 16psi at .5 degree retard per psi = 8 degree retard total. safe anyone???

Plenty safe, depending on whether the other variables are stable, such as intake air temp, intercooler efficiency, AFR, fuel quality, etc.

Each situation is different. If you do get on the dyno, make sure it's a steady-state dyno. Lots of times detonation occurs under extended, non-varying loads, such as climbing steep hills. Inertia dynos can't load the engine for closed loop tuning.
