i was at a local shop in Tallahassee helping the guys out with an RB25 powered 240. It is a stock block and head but thats about it. Everything else has been upgraded tremendously.

As a matter of fact, the car put down 526 whp on 21 psi yesterday. We kept blowing intercooler pipes off at anything over 21 psi. Plus this was the first time we really dynoed the car with that much power. it made 459 on 16 psi.

Anyways, my question is how much is the stock block rb25 supposed to be able to take? All tuning has been done on the Haltech EMS and a Mustang dyno. Fuel is not a problem with 1000cc injectors and twin Walbros in the dedicated fuel cell. The car is using an Air-Water intercooler.

By the way we took the car out after the dyno for a test spin and it was quite simply the fastest car I've ever ridden in. We launched at 5k and before I knew it were were screaming down the highway. Car breaks the 27" Mickey Thompson ET Streets loose at the top of third. The car will be at the track in Valdosta (South Georgia Motorsports Park) tonight and tomorrow for anyone interested in checking it out.

i think RBs are supposed to be damn near JZ levels. Id suspect a mint condition RB could handle upwards of 6oo-7oo hp:pimp :jawdrop:

You can compare the RB26 to the 2jz, but not the RB25. The RB25 is compartible to the 7M motors. I know there is a R34 NEO RB25 that made it to 578HP. There are RB25's that have made it to about 600-650HP.

When you say stock block + head but everything else upgraded. I guess that means it has upgraded rods + pistons as well as cams? Block and head being stock as in unported and unblueprinted? Just want to be clear on what a stock head and block you mean.

stock internally...stock pistons, rods, springs, cams everything stock in the motor. When i said everything else upgraded i was talking about everything external to the motor.

this motor was delivered from venus or neishlin and then dropped in. It is a used motor with nothing done to it internally.

Wow! I am impressed. I am guessing this was done with race gas? So there wasn't a headgasket upgrade? No Water/Alky injecotion? This makes me feel better about my 350+ WHP goal.

Do you know what RPM they where reving to? What turbo?

Yeah, the project is named "Igor." It has a roll-cage stripped interior etc. Not something you want to drive daily but you could if you had to. The exhaust dumps right out behind the left front tire. Not the prettiest car either but it hauls ***!

I'm going to try and get some footage of this car. I'm big on pictures, videos, sound clips. Unfortunately, last night was the first time i was able to go help them dyno the car and I didn't have my video camera with me. I will have the camera saturday i just hope we don't get rained out.

I doubt it will run 10s saturday (although very capable) because that will be the first time at the track and the guy who built the car will not be there to drive it. He was actually driving yesterday when i rode in it and he is a very skilled driver. The owner hasn't made a pass in it yet.

The guy who put this car together is the same guy that had the sr20det in the 93 rx-7. that car made 545whp on 26psi (stock pistons and rods) and went 10.50 @ 139mph. this is his new project so to speak. he doesn't surf this forum though.

it is the same car. the car has finally been finished. it was a non-revenue project so it took 8-12 months to finish. Basically done in spare time.

unofficial results tonight.....i'm waiting for a callback but the best run was an 11.7. As soon as I get a callback I will post trap speeds, etc.

Remember this was the very first time out in the car.

EDIT for Timeslip:

60ft: 1.717330ft: 5.1581/8th: 7.7831/8mph: 96.7801000ft: 9.9251/4: 11.7291/4mph: 126.920

Not bad for his very first time out in the car. Another note, he missed gears in every single run. In this run he missed second. We're going to have to get a short throw shifter in there.

no that was on high boost, which was 21 psi. trust me, its the driver :) this car will go 10s. if he hadn't missed second he would gone low-mid 11s.

if shaun was driving the car it would've went 10s. but i'm proud of the owner for his very first time ever at the track.

I will have my camera today at the track and he will be going again today. They did get the runs on video but not with my camera so I can't promise a video until after today.

Just thought I would tell you guys about IGOR again. He won the South Georgia Motorsports Park Import Drag Race tonight.

Car went 11.11 @ 126mph. I will post the full timeslip #s when I talk to the driver.

You read that right....

11.11 1/4 mile @ 126 mph. 526whp.

89 s13 with RB25 swap. Completely stock internals including stock head gasket and stock head studs.
