hi, i wanted to know the max feet of the RCA cable thats allowed to be connnected to the low level output of a car stereo. Right now i have a 9 feet RCA cable connected to that and to my AMP but the AMPed speakers does not work, so i just want to check if its my b/c of the cable. Thx for any help.

On your preamp outs, what's their rated voltage? If the voltage is low and your wire is long, it can decrease the sound output some, but most importantly it adds in a lot of noise. If they're 4v+ you can any length sheilded RCA's as you want in your car. I say that because who's going to run a 50ft long RCA in their car?

More than likely it's not from your cable, so start at your ears and work backwards.

Do your speakers actually work? (did you test them?)Are the speakers hooked up correctly?Does the amp turn on?Are the gains all the way up?Are the RCA's plug in correctly (inputs vs outputs)? Are you getting a signal to the amp?Are the preamp outs turned off/disabled in the head unit? Are there any other things in path between the speaker and the head unit that I didn't mention that should be checked out?
