What is the max boost that you guys would reccomend running on a s13 model sr with stock internals. . .while still being safe and not having to worry about risking any damage?thanks

What turbo are you running?

Pump gas?

Tuned?

If it's a stock turbo with a FMIC then run 14 psi tops.

Stock internals have been proven to around 500hp, but only by people who know a great deal about how to tune and setup a high performance turbo engine. Those that do not have the typical shop resources and fundamental knowledge of tuning the SR20DET will not get very far without blowing up the engine. Engine condition and quality of the installation factor in a lot when considering reliability regardless of power level.

My 240 is stock right now w/KA motor, but I am looking at a few w/sr swaps now I am trying to find one that had the swap done but has a basically stock sr engine in it. I know decent amount about tuning. But its no big deal, because I have a friend that owns a machine shop. And another that builds high performance motors for a living for race cars, drag cars, imports/american. . .whatever. He's the best engine man around (partially my opinion but all of the HP fanatics around here go to him). Anyways, I haven't done a lot of research on the sr20 yet and was just curious of what the stock internals can handle. Once I find one that is what I want and get to work i'll probably aim for about 300HP. I just wanted to make sure stock internals would be fine because I don't want to do a complete tear down this year.

Shouldn't have a problem at 300WHP, much more and I personally would be lookin to replace the headgasket for insurance.

I'm pretty conservative though.

For sure, metal headgasket is definitely going on!
