so i've searched and searched and haven't found a reasonable answer. What would be the max boost the ka can handle on a t3/t4 turbo with 550cc injectors( emance tune for whatever psi i choose)?

On a stock block no more than 300 hp or i'll blow up. I wouldn't recommend the emance tunes too many bad reviews and a fraud. I would just either go with jwt, enthalpy or efi specialist for a rom tune. If not and want to tune it yourself either go nistune, bikirom, calum rt. There's plenty of useful information if you read the stickies...

10-12psi on a .63 trim... at least that's what I guess.

I push 27 psi on 650 RC injectors on a rebuilt stock block and internals that had 320,000 miles. Current HP unknown. What condition is the engine in miles, etc?

its not psi you need to worry about, its hp. different turbo's flow different. do what i did and look all through everyones threads and all the ka-t threads (theres an assload so it shouldnt be hard to find). thats how i figured out what i wanted to do.

What turbo, a T25?? 27psi with 650cc injectors must be a small turbo...

To answer the original question, it really depends on your tune. Guys have made 400, 500, 600+whp on stock KA's. With a good tune, 300whp at 12psi from a T3/T4 is a breeze.

650cc injectors can handle about 400 hp at a 80% duty cycle and 495 at 100%. My turbo is a T3, 76 trim, .82 a/r twin scroll turbine housing, with a T67 .68 a/r compressor housing. Full boost onset is at 5300 rpms and pulls hard til it hits 7800. Yes 7800 is correct.

So why does it need to be a small turbo? I run awesome with this setup, the tune is on the safe side and it is fast, mid 11's fast.

I run 10 psi on a t3/t4 with 555cc injectors daily with no problems. I've heard of ka's running on 15psi with no problems as well, but I'm not sure how long they lasted. Just keep in mind that a stock ka can handle surprisingly high levels of boost but for how long is what should really be considered.

But in short, i'd say a stock ka24de in good conditon with proper maintenance can handle 12 psi at around 300 hp no problem on a t3/t4 with 550cc injectors.

I've run 28psi on my GT3076R with 740cc sidefeed's. Running race fuel with a gallon or two of alcohol.I have a fully built engine, too.

Tuned for 15psi on 93 octane for daily.

Car has 8.8:1 pistons, with a .080" head gasket. So I'm thinking in the range of 8.4ish to 1 compression.

Not sure of horsepower.

But like it has been said up above, it depends on turbo, setup, parts, etc etc etc etc etc.

My fault. I didnt think 650cc injectors could handle 27psi from a turbo of any substantial size. I was wrong. But unless youre running higher pressure, your injectors must be at (or beyond) their limit.

I'm using an aeromotive rising rate FPR and project nissan fue rail with a rom tune. I don't know how close to being maxed out they are, but I agree that they are probably close.

really?

That's my goal now that i'm just finishing my ka-t... what do you consider a good tune at that specific level of horsepower (starting with the cheapest option of course )

IMO.. the most important part you buy with your kit will be tuning. Of all the things to skimp on it wouldnt be tuning imo, so with that being said i would go with calum/nistune done at a reputable shop or a JWT. Neither will be cheap (prolly close to 400-600) but you have a much higher quality of a build that will not fail due to tune issues. I have read alot of post of peeps blowing there kats from tunes... hope that helps

that's true... most like it will be a ROM tune, yep.

After all the work I've put into installing my turbo I don't want all that work to dissappear in one WOT run!!
