max boost in first gear...

this might be a n00b question... dunno...

im running at about 13psi... is it normal not to reach maximum boost in first gear off the launch due to the gear running so short? as the boost is rising i already have to change into second gear before it even reaches the 13psi.

Yes thats normal with turbocharged cars. If all turbo cars could reach full boost early in first gear (ie 2700ish RPM's for an SR20 at 7 psi) then you'd simply burn out through the whole gear. The gearing keeps boost from peaking in first, sometimes you can reach full boost by redline in first.
