Hey guysi have rebuilt a CA18det with std internal(rings,bearings,gaskets,pistons,rods....are all brand new from NIssan),engine has just a lil over 1500km on it(will be torqued up this week),block was machined and sleeved(std bore and stroke)so,what i wanna know is, what is the max boost the above engine will handle?i have a hybrid T28 turbo(has GR28R compressor wheel),top side exhaust manifold(equal length tubing, turbo on top)70mm mandrel exuast from downpipe, aftermarket FPR,550cc nismo injectors, external wastegate, new but std fuel pump , blitz dumpvalve and FMIC

with above in mind.....what max boost can i run on my engine(oh forgot..i have a MSX stand alone managment),and what sort of power should i be looking out for?so i can compair when i go take it on the dyno.

You should have got aftermarket forged internals that could hold more. Factory internals are good for 300whp. With all those parts brand new maybe more liek 400 whp, but it won't last for ages.

With 550cc injectors you should get 550whp. I'm just tugging your nuts but seriously whats the most anyones ever gotten on stock brand new internals? Not gonna try it just curious.

It will depend entirely on your turbo efficiency as to your max boost pressure, and the engine coping will be directly impacted with your tune.

With your mods, I would say 190-200 rwk (254-268 whp) would be a good figure to start with.

Out of curiosity, what was the reason for the aftermarket FPR? The stock one would have been fine for your mods, power goal, injectors and stock fuel pump.

I used 800cc injectors with the stock fpr with no real dramas, the only reason I am upgrading now is for the nitrous.

Well I see many people talking 300 or so horses.R u guys kidding or what. proven fact. my 1978 datsun 210 which I built has my 4port intake ca18det. completely stock internals(except for head gasket & arp studs. I have been dynoed at 438rwhp last year @ 23psi and still going strong except for oil leak @ front main. Running Precision 880 injectors, Microtech LT-8s, GT3071R turbo,Walbro fuel pump, FMIC and a few add-on goodies. so please don't underestimate what a CA18DET can do. This is not my first build. Oh, before folks start commenting on this. 438 is with VP fuels(C14), 346RWHP on pump fuel. My vehicle was featured in Nissan Sport Mag last fall as the super sleeper from Florida. Currently up for sale $12,500USD.FIRM.

my friend was running 1.4bar with T28bb s15 spec R turbo (555cc nismo's, walbro, z32afm, 3" exh, nistune and other supporting mods) on internal stock ca18. exact power numbers are unknown because car was written off before it was dynoed. imho it was above 300whp.

BoostBoy's done 500hp on stock internals. They're good for WAY over 300hp.

That turbo you've got will only get you to about 300hp though. That' really pushing it too.

Dash, why don't you just search for the Fall '09 issue of Nissan Sport Mag (our own magazine btw)? I'm not going to do it for you, but it should be easy as hell.
