with a 9.5:1 sohc engine what would be the max boost i could run with stock internals? More importantly, how much could I raise my boost with alcohol/water injection?

also, is there a point in running rich with retarded timing and upping the boost?Or is it better to be running optimal a/f and timing with somewhat more conservative boost?

Impossible to anwer...what does your fuel/ignition system consist of? How are you tuning it, what type of alcohol?

for a hypothetical situation.. injection would prolly be 450cc dsm with 255lph fuel pump and hks s-afr with a z32 maf. Ignition.. some sort with a spark enhancer combined with boost-based retard system. Tuned on dyno with all the sensors it needs

im just worrying about the max boost on stock on internals cosidering everything else is done as it shud be. Obviusly u prolly cant run much more than 4psi on an 11.5 : 1 CR. What would would be a figure for a 9.5:1 motor

alcohol water injection... i guess anywhere from 50% to 100% water, injected after the turbo. Uhh i dun know much bout water/alky systems. I bet u do :)

If you run MEthonal injection with everything tuned on the DYNO I'd say 20 psi. 15 is a definite, 20 will be border line maxing out the internals, I would go farther, But I'm not going to tell someone else to do it.

I ran an Aquamist system on my GVR4 and loved it. Without the alchy, the ECU would pull timing at 17 psi on pump gas with my 16g. With alchy, I was running 22 psi with no timing pulled at all. I was injecting windshield wiper fluid right from the resevoir on the car.

We had a custom system on a 347ci Mustang on the dyno two weeks ago. 93 octane with HUGE amounts of water netted us 930 RWHP thru a Lentech automatic.

Once I get one of my cars up and running, I will probably experiment with it to see how much HP I can make on 93 octane
