i was just asking becouse I thought it would look something like this

.5 x 10 = 5% chances of getting 10 heads in a row, but I wasn't sure if it was right. hehe

Nope. The correct method is:

0.5 x 0.5 x 0.5 x 0.5 x 0.5 ... (ten times)

BTW, in case I was not clear, please note I wasn't dinging you at all ... just answering the specific question you asked. There are lots of topics that I do not have the slightest clue about and ask for help too ...

I was under the impression that it was a 50% chance, regardless of the number of times it was tossed.

We had a question similar to this (20 times) in my cognitive psychology class last semester. The answer was 50% because no matter how many times you throw the coin in the air, you have the same chance of getting either side.

Also, another question was: "which has the greater probability of being picked by the Powerball?" (24, 27, 3, 43, 8) or (34, 35, 36, 37, 38)

The answer is neither because they both have an equal chance of being picked.

That is true only if each flip is independant. But it is dependant because you want to find out what the chances are of getting heads 10 times in a row, not 10 times.
