Replaced the master clutch cylinder on a 1997 Nissan D21 4x4. Discovered the part numbers are wrong, - or there are two different master clutch cylinders used on the 1996-1997 pickups. The Wagner part # CM 112980 which all the parts stores showed would work is not a good number. I finally had to order one. The Centric part # CE136.42011 is a good number, when I opened the box the cylinder looked correct except for a valve with a green check located just below the line that goes to the slave cylinder. The master cylinder was made over the pond,so I called the parts store, who in turn called a place that distributes Centric parts and they had never seen or heard of a cylinder with a valve, and did not have any idea what it is for. The master worked good. Has anyone ever seen one or installed one with a valve on the bottom besides me???

Got it figured out. There are THREE different master clutch cylinders used on the -D21 Hardbody trucks. The wagner part # F112980 - which most part stores show to be the correct application fits - 1995-01/1996 -4 or 6 cyl. ( This one has no valve) - The Centric # CE136.42011 - fits 0/1 1996 -1997 (This one comes in two flavors) with or without the valve. Both cylinders will bolt up. The difference between the two is the length where the rubber boot that fits on the end of the cylinder. The length of the F112980 IS 3/4 inch - the CE136.42011 is 1-3/4 inch.
