Massive engine knock in 2002 I35. Check engine light is on.

My 2002 I35 has 130,000 miles and now has a very loud engine knock/rattle. It gets louder as I accelerate. There is also a noticble loss of performance. It sounds like a timing issue -- a very bad timing issue.

The check enginer light came on and I took it to my local parts store. The codes are P0455, P1448, and P0011.

Has anyone experienced this before? Any suggestions?

whens the last time you changed your oil...they VQ35DE's have had issues with timing chain tensioners coming apart.but also if your oil is sludged up that also could be a factor

That's a good observation. It's been a while since the oil was changed. It's pushing the 3,000 mile mark but it has been way more than 3 months. In fact, the car sat for a couple of months without driving.

What do you recommend? Should I go with a thin oil? thick? A certain brand? Is there some type of cleaner or additive I can use?

well its recommended to use 5w30 honestly...and you should not really ever go over 3000 miles on the oil. if the oil wasnt maintianed well and with the miles that are on it it may have a timing chain guide broken in the case...which means in order to fix it the engine would have to come out of the car to properly reapir it
