Gotta love used cars. Had problems with my vert snce I had it. I knew that before I bought it.

Car runs fine, idles immaculate.

BUT...

It won't rev past 2500rpms. I did a little playing around and had a friend of mine run the problem through at work. Turns out it's a Mass sensor.\

So, I go to replace mine and here's where it gets fun...I have 3 wires:green.white.black.

I HAD a 4 wire MAS. wtf?

Had a friend pull another from a 92. when he handed it to me it had the MAS at one end, and a clip (connected to two wires) and a cut end housing 3 wires in one set, and two in another (in the same insulation.)

WTF do I do....?

^^^Yup. The DE has an extra wire (DOHC), I noticed the same thing when I looked up the MAF on the scanner at work.

Believe it or not, the year of the car matters when it comes to parts...

The MAF is a simple bolt and clip up part, IDK why your having such a problem. Depending whether or not you got the housing along with the MAF, all you gotta do (Speaking from a 90, not sure if it's the same on the DE) is unbolt the four bolts (10mm I believe) that attach the MAF housing and the air box, disconnect the post MAF intake boot and unclip the sensor itself...

If all you have it the MAF and no housing then you gotta get a special head screw driver (not sure of the name), it's a star shape (like the torx), but also has a hole in the middle of it and then put the new sensor in.

problem has since been figured out. i was having such a problem because the previous owner likes electrical tape and wire cutters a little too much. each wire was individually routed so it made for a fun time considering i had nothing to compare it to. and yes, it was just the sensor. no housing was included, also adding to the confusion because...the ***** didn't fit! thanks for the help. -_-
