I read a FAQ about power issues with the 240sx. It explained that it stumbled, died sometimes, hard to start on hot days, wouldn't pull good through the RPMs, surges, balkiness, you name it. The author stated he cleaned the mass air meter and now it is purring like a kitten and runs stronger.

Has anyone heard of this mass air meter and if so where is it located becaus I am willing to try anything at this point!

Thanks

I would look at the Mass Air Flow Sensor <connector> first.(MAF= "mass air meter")

Its a common cause of drivability issues/powerloss as well.

Also its kinda easy to damage your MAF by cleaning it, so careful with that.

idle the car, find the MAF connector (its right next to the MAF, I dont know what it looks like on a 240, but on a Q its next to the square box thats squatting on top of the air filter housing), wiggle the connector gently and see if your engines sounds different as u do.

If it does, then its the connector (cheap and easy replacement at least on my car).

Fred...:)

Its located before the airbox. Heres a macro diagram.
