I put in an aftermarket CAI intake in my 99 Maxima. While I was putting it in, on accident, i pulled out the wires for the mass air flow sensor plug. I went to a junk yard and got another plug that fits, but now when i rev my engine the car stalls and shuts off. And now it seems that I have a rev limiter at 2500. Any help or suggestions?

Just for clarification, did you splice the old MAF into the new connector, or install a whole different used MAF? If it's the latter, your junkyard MAF may have been bad.

Also, similar symptoms can be caused by not connecting other sensors to the new intake, like the IACV or the EGR.

everything was connected and i just accidentally pulled the wires from the plug while it was plugged in... i tried to plug the wires back into the plug to the MAF, but i didnt get any response then i tried to get a new plug from the U PULL IT and it fit with wires just spliced into it, but no response either. I figured i am just getting the wires wrong or i messed up the sensor. But i need my car back on the road... i miss it

Welcome to NICO!

That is actually a common problem anyways. I would recommend that you take it to a shop and see about getting those wires put back in professionally. The 2500 RPM deal is sometimes known as 'limp mode'. This is what happens when there is an issue with the MAF.

So theres no way i can make it work by splicing the old wires onto the new MAF sensor?
