Hey everyone i'm having a major problem with my 90 na -> tt conversion, the conversion is done and now i'm having idle and bog down issues that seem to be dependent on the mass air flow sensor.

When the mass air flow sensor is unplugged the car will run under 3000 rpms and idle just fine, when it hits 3000 rpms or 30 mph(had to drive back to shop from muffler shop) the car cuts throttle and fuel, but i think that is just because the car is running in limp mode and limiting throttle cause it doesn't know how much air the engine is getting.

When the mass air sensor is plugged in the car struggles to idle and once above 3000 rpms it sounds and runs like it's supposed to, never driven it cause it seems unsafe to. To keep the car alive some feathering of the throttle is necessary to keep the engine alive and even above 3000 rpms it just seems like it wants to come back down and die.

The engine harness and mass air flow sensor are both from my NA, i should also say that i drove the car onto a car hauler before the intercooler pipes were made, and in order to do that i had to unplug the mass air flow sensor, and the engine was just sucking in outside air not from the pipes or anything.

Thanks

ummm, I thought the tt had a different mas? the problems you describe sound like a bad mas, but having the wrong one might present the same
