wait...you posted pics...

I'm wanting to say the older ones are tube.

as for the 10/22, I wouldn't buy a new one. Ruger really dropped the ball on the quality of them as of late.

I bought a Marlin Model 60 and a 795

The main differences are:

Tube vs Clip19" barrel vs 18"14 capacity vs 10

All the parts are pretty much interchangable.

Do you have any recommendations for getting they damn dovetail rings to stay inplace? After about 30 shots they start migrating backwards. The bolts are all still tight so that's not the issue. It seems like it's not gripping enough or something.

Earlier I took the rings off the rail and put red loctite on it just to see if that helps. Other then that I don't know what to try.

ruger 10/22 ftw have had tons of rounds go thru one and never a problem

I ened up getting a 795 and a model 60.

They'll shoot around 1/2" at 100 yards out of the box
