I am seeing all kinds of prices for the m. I am looking at an 07 likely so what is the general price people are paying for the advanced tech m35x? its possible I will have someone go to the auction to get it so I would like an idea of how much the difference is at retail and how much a markup a dealer does over a non dealer non private sale. trying to keep the mileage at 36k or less

thanks in advance.

07 is now 3 years old, so a good price would be 50% of original sticker price, or about 24-25K.......most people overpay for used cars.

Here in California these are selling at the auction for around 25k.. After the auction cost and the inspection they are in the cars around 26-27k.. They will advertise them to start around 30ish but you can probobly get into one around 26.5k.. They will try to get you on the back end in finance so get your own loan.. Try a credit union.. Hope this helps

it does help. my credit is excellent but my credit union rates are only like 4.65% now. would like to get lower but its a moot point since my lease ends in feb and cant pull the trigger til then anyway. even thought the 08 and up is more refined I am partial to the 07 for the better voice activation and the availability of the gorgeous bourbon interior. and I DID do the search for those thinking along those lines. the more info the better. thanks to all who post.

4.65% is a great rate for a used car. I would just keep looking. I snapped up my M45 for $20k+tax/extended warranty in May. I have a credit score over 700 but the dealer gave me 6.9%. I immediately refinanced but the lowest I could find was 5.9% through Capital One. I did not check any credit unions.

You must remember that since the Recession has started, people are not spending their money on new cars like they used too. So a lot of people are buying used cards. A lot of auction house and dealerships know this so their raising the prices of the used cars. i was recently toying with trading in my 99 mustang for a newer model and they were still in the 20's, for an '06

That's true - one of my neighbors recently got a call from the Toyota dealership where they bought their Siena minivan 2 years ago. The dealership was offering top dollar (cash) to sell it back to them.

Who would have thought that possible....
