I started many threads and without any replies this is the last place I can turn.I have allot of random question that got build up. Sorry if this is allot of questions, any help will be much appreciated.

Car 1998 Nissan Altima, 75K miles original engine and transmission

1. I have an oil pressure gauge, it comes with a sensor, where do I hook up this sensor? I also have an oil filter relocation kit that I haven’t installed yet, can I hook up the sensor to the oil line between the block and the oil flitter?2. I also have an oil temp gauge, can I replace the oil drain plug with the sensor given the right fitting and washer?3. I have an oil cooler that is mounted but not hooked up, what is the ideal operating temp of engine oil? If the oil is cooled down to much can it cause damage, or loss of efficiency?4. Can I do the same for the automatic transmission? Put a temp sensor where the drain plug is.5. How do I fill up the automatic transmission fluid? Threw the dip stick?6. When is it time to replace the transmission fluid?7. Here is a picture of my transmission lines going from the transmission to radiator, what is the direction of flow? It the fluid coming out from the top line or bottom line?8. I have white residue on my sparks plugs due to incorrect heat range, spark plugs are too hot, is this terrible for the car?9. I noticed something strange, I have aftermarket plug wires and they don’t sit very tight, if I put my finger on each of them while the engine is running they vibrate a bit, however #2 cylinder is vibrating more, when putting the stock plug wires the problem some what disappears, however the vibrations from #2 are higher then any other cylinder, am I detonating? Bad compression?

Remove the old sending unit for the idiot light and install your gauge sender in its place. Or buy a T that you can screw into the old senders location and screw both your gauge sender and the light sender into.

I wouldnt install it in your drain plug hole it will hang to low and possibly get nail by road debris. If you are serious about this temp sensor thing. remove the upper pan skirt and have a hole drilled and threaded for the sensor.

Yes

Quote »6. When is it time to replace the transmission fluid?
Every 30k is a good interval

I cant make heads or tails out of that picture. Feel like makin a mess? pop one of the lines off and have someone start the car for a couple secs while you look to see which direction the fluid is flowing.

Quote »8. I have white residue on my sparks plugs due to incorrect heat range, spark plugs are too hot, is this terrible for the car?
white usually indicates its running lean get the right plugs in and check it again after 500miles.

Replace the plugs and wires with factory stuff and then recheck it. A plug wire rattling does not indicate anything to do with internal combustion.
