I was just wondering if anybody had gone to one of these and if so which one and how did you like it. Just starting to think about getting into one of these.

Not just Nissan but also Audi, Mercedes and BMW. I know the three of those have good schools. BMW sucks to try to get into, they are the hardest.

I think if you go to a BMW dealership with some experience behind you, they'll send you to BMW tech school

well there is UTI. But funny thing is everyone that goes there doesn't get a mechanics job lol. They use it more toward there hobby

But getting in to nistech... how exactly do you get in? I know you can get toyota certification from a community college.

If you are a tech at a Nissan dealer, they pay for you to get certified through the Nissan training program. I assume other manufacturers do the same.

nah ford, toyota, and some others offer factory training at community colleges as a program type thing. When your done they hook you up with an entry level job at a dealer and some tools. Nissan does not do that at present but it was mentioned recently in one of my classes at NNA. They are considering doing it. probably because they are running out of techs that want to do warranty all day and not get payed crap :rolleyes..lol

Nissan has gone as far as crossing certification over from one manufactuer to theirs. Like say you are an engine specialist with toyota, you would come over to nissan and retain that same certification with nissan after only one course for that area. Most of nissans specialty areas have typically 4 classes to attain that level.

I'm noticing that most dealerships are finally starting to realize that if you don't pay your employees crap, and you treat them half way decent, the turnover rate stays down. Go figure that.

btw, warranty work sucks ***, and i would never work at a dealership for that reason alone (that and I'm not certified)

Not hi-performance driving, even though I would love to go to a school for that, I meant to be a tech. I am about to graduate NADC and have been looking at getting a little more training. I have no experience so BMW will most likely pick me up but with my grades and attendance I have been told that I could still go to Mercedes or Audi. Of course that is only if I pass the pretests and interviewing process.

Bubba1 do you work at the Allentown training center?

No. I instruct for the Audi Club at a few of their driving schools. They're held at most of the major race tracks. It's just a hobby for me, not a day job. The marques you mentioned all happen to have driving schools like Audi, which is why I thought you were talking about 'em. My bad.
