Manual transmission in my s13 won'tgo into reverse?

Not quite sure it's the transmission a new clutch was installed by the pervious owner and go figure shortly thereafter revrse no longer works. It feels funny oushing into 1st and 4th but fine in 2nd 3rd and 5th.. just won't go into reverse. I have a spare transmission if that's the case but I was curious if this would more likely be the result of something simpler such as shift linkages, wrong clutch install or what not. If anybody has any ideas please toss them my way thanks. (Yes I searched but an auto trans not shifting is not my problem)

Where is the clutch engaging at maybe its not adjusted right and the clutch is not disengaging fully so it makes it harder for the synchros.

The clutch begins to engage at about half-press as normal. Just doesn't wanna go into reverse.

this actually happened to me, then i lost 5th.
but i added a bunchh (over a quart) of nissan manual transmission fluid due to a leak and i got both gears back.
but if it is indeed your synrcos are shot then i dunno man

I actually have another transmission so I'm not exactly crying over it. And I always got the uber reliable z31 daily driver
