I need to fill my newly installed manual transmission, but I am wondering what I can fill it with. I searched for a bit and saw someone say that using GL-5 can be bad for the transmission as it has an additive that dissolves brass, which the synchros in 240 MTs are made of. I don't know any of this for a fact, but I know the FSM suggests GL-4 and I am having a hard time finding it. So, my question is, does it have to be GL-4 or is this fact about GL-5 being bad just a rumor? Thanks for the help.

Well, I got off my lazy *** and researched on Google since I am on my way out to buy some and couldn't wait around for a reply. Didn't take long to find this article: http://home.earthlink.net/~cmc...7.htmRead it. And then put GL-4 in.
