I have a 91 240sx with an auto transmission and I want to convert it to manual. How much would it cost to do this? About 500? More? Less?

Also, I was wondering about the compatibility between model years, 89-90 transmission into a 91. Also, what about an M/T from an 88 or 89 pickup 2WD, it has the KA24E engine, it it helps.

My car has the KA24DE engine, if that helps too.

price depends on where and how many miles the transmission has. but right around 500 is a good estimate.

I think you have alot more work involved than you think. You will have to add the clutch cutting through the firewall, add the clutch cylinder, add the hardline running from the cylinder to the transmission, cut up your brake pedal, swap drive shafts, and some electronics. Its alot more than just tossing on another transmission.

Yep. My philosophy is if you have to ask a question that's this general you aren't skilled enough to do the swap. Period.

the auto to manual swap only took about 8 hours and that even included running for misc parts. the swap is a little harder than changing a clutch. The swap will cost less if your auto transmission is in working condition. i got 150 for my transmission, you just have to find a buyer and ship it. where are you located. nick
