Why hasn't anyone simply cut new bolt holes in an existing bellhousing and reinforced it with collars?

My current plan is to use an existing VH bellhousing with a bellhousing to transmission adapter, but since the bolt pattern of the bell and that of most transmissions are not even remotely close (nissan autos aside) something must be done to make the two work together

Car: lots of unique hot rods, and customs, with modern engines, and a good truck to pull the trailer.

From what I have found, a few are sectioning off the VH bell(a few inches of it) and welding it on in place of the lip on the VG. Then you have a few issues with the flywheel, and starter from what i have found.Only reasonI am going Mazworx is that i can use a z32 starter, flywheel(fidenza) and Zclutch. I read about people using the whole case? with a Z32 trans, but could not find good info on it being done right, and working well. Here is were i get flamed onby someone who has it done
