I have a 94 Q and I am looking do the a/t to manual swap.Could I by chance get the list of parts I'll need for the swap, and what transmission will be the best for this daily driver.I've read the threads about the 300zx trans and have already sourced one for 200plus tax. Need to know if I need to buy it quickly or take my time getting other parts.I'll apreciate any helpful feedback.Thanks. I pray the Q gods to have mercy on me.

Don't you know, a car can't be fast if it's an automatic .

droopy - please search, you'll find a few discussions about this, and as far as most of us on NICO know, no one has mated a manual transmission to a VH45DE in a Q45.

A 5 speed mated to a VH45DETT in a Z32 - 450zxtt

A 5 speed mated to an RB25DET in a Q45 - midnightsliding

A 5 speed mated to a VH45 in a S14 - gs14racer

Well, I guess I did the searching for you

I live In Winewood, it's by Erwin High school.(Center Point-ish)But I work in pelham, what a drive. On the 450zxtt I thought that 4.5 came out of a 90-93 Q45I also have a 91 Q45 thats being worked on in montgomery, that my wife is beating me senseless over , I think it's been two years sense it broke.(long sad story)Anyway my Q is a 94 I know that there is a difference between the 90-93- vs 94-96 engine but I thought all that was like different ecu, better injectors, different cam shaft pos sensor, and metal guides, Seeing that it still a 4.5 liter and not the smaller cousin 4.1 liter in the latter year 96 model I was really wondering if the plate from Mazworx would in my application.I think that ausi had a 89 skyline that he had put a 4.1 Q engine with 4.5 crank an pistons in that he installed his self, and then matted the five to it,Unless you're talking about the other ausi that put the Q engine in a off-Road vehicle with a four wheel drive transfer case and transmission. But what ever the case who should I talk to?

Getting adapter plates is the easy part fabing mounts, new drive shafts, speedogear, ecu, and diff gears and mounting clutch pedals and making gear shift look good and function well is the toughy.

When a car NEVER had a standard transmission the redesign is often an expensive nightmare if you expect it to perform like a factory unit.

I've seen experts spend 3 days just swapping over AT to MT in a 300zx.

I'm still waiting after 7 years here for a Q conversion that looks and acts factory.

Not with a VH or VK series in any Q45 or Gloria chassis. They would be G50, FG33, F50 and Y34.

Well i really want to attempt to do what seems like the imposible.I drive trucks for a living currently, thats all truck drivers do is make the imposible look easy.Plus I love a challenge, because it makes me have a feel of acomplishment or something, To do things that are only thought-up in my mind.

I'm at church right now I've got to go play. Be back later.
