i couldn't find this in the forum archives so i'm wondering if anyone has noticed the following. i have a 2011 pathfinder le (automatic transmission with the manual shifter to the side) and frequently use it to pull my small bass boat. the first time i started to pull out my boat trailer up the boat ramp using the manual setting, my dashboard read 4th gear, even though i'm sure i was in 1st. anyone else notice this: if you are at a dead stop and you flip the shifter over to manual, the gear reading is 4th. HUH?

Very few of us here have R51 (2005+) Pathfinders. I think this question would be better served for a service adviser at your local dealership, really.

I checked the 2009 owner's manual page 5-16, but it said nothing relevant to your question. The 2011 owner's manual is not available online, so perhaps check your physical copy?

thanks for the quick reply Towncivilian. i actually did take my pathfinder into the local nissan service department, and they told me that they checked 3 other pathfinders in their new car inventory - they all do the same thing as mine!

Good, it's some sort of "feature" and not a problem! :)
