Yes, most of us have been begging for companies to start making more cars available with manual transmissions. That's old and everyday news. The article is a cool read but what is awesome about this is one of the comments made at the end of the article. Scroll down to read it and some of the replies to it.

Why would anyone want to drive a stick shift? It takes longer to stop, which can be dangerous.

That is the dumbest thing I have heard of since a barbed wire thong. I want to take her for a ride and show her how fast my 5-speed stops. I insist she backup her theory by not wearing a seatbelt.

good grief.

On the other hand though, I was reading an article on how in the past few years there's been a significant upswing in the number of manuals being sold.

Ford is selling them somewhere in the number of 10 percent now. Which when you think about there biggest moving vehicles aren't even offered with a manual transmission, that's a significant chunk of the fun stuff getting them. Fiesta, Focus and the Mustang. I'm not sure if they even offer a manual for the F series or the Fusion anymore but the market for a manual in those classes is pretty much nonexistent. Oooooo....6 speed 6.2 Raptor sounds so nice though. Damnit Ford!

A manual would stop faster...somewhat, with the help of engine braking. Release the gas and it slows down, unlike a friggin automatic where it just keeps on going.
