Hey, so I'm pretty set on buying an altima coupe, and i've wanted a manual for a while. So far all I can find is the 2.5s with manual for the same price as a 3.5se with automatic. Any suggestions?
Also, do the the 3.5se's only come with the cvt automatic transmission? or do they come in regular automatic as well.
Thanks in advance!

Get the 6spd IMO. A lot more you can do modification wise and is fun as heck to drive. Price depends on the packages, is the 2.5 loaded and 3.5 base?

The 2.5 and the 3.5 both come in CVT and manual. They are obviously harder to find in the manual form, but keep looking for a manual 3.5, because you most likely will not like the CVT on it!

For every 30 3.5 CVTs, they make one 6MT. They are very hard to find used. I ended up getting a CVT because there were no 6MTs on the market anywhere west of the Rockies at the time. CVT is great; transmission problems are exagerated. The governor is lower, at 130mph and a turbo can overheat the transmission at more than 5psi. CVT does get better mpg, and it has a manual mode.

If you're looking at used cars, get a CVT. If you're willing to buy new, get a 6MT. The 6MT is gonna cost you more though, oddly. And you may have to wait for a new one from the factory for a few months.

You might be able to find a used one. Sometimes I see them up on ebay or autotrader. Actually saw a 2008 white 3.5 6speed with blonde interior. Talk about the most odd ball combo! That has got to be a one in a million car there! lol

i have a 2010 3.5 6spd and i had to order the car because there wasnt one for sale in the WHOLE United States at that time. Because i got to customize it just makes me love it even more and was worth the wait. if i were you, i would wait for a 6 spd. =)

It seems to me that if you're buying a brand new car for that much money, you'd be an idiot NOT to get one EXACTLY as you want it. I never understood how people could compromise and just take on on the lot. Both times I got my car I waited 3 months for it to come in, and am so glad I did.

If I totaled my car, I'm not sure that I'd be willing to wait 3 months.

My last car had some engine problems that would cost more to fix than the car was worth. I went and got this car, used. I didn't have the option of waiting 3 months (or the money to buy it new).

You might as well go all out and find that 3.5SE MT A/C. You'll be more satisfied.
