Manual mode clicking sound

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I was driving this morning without the Audio on. I was changing the gear in the manual mode and i couldnt help but to notice that there is a clicking sound coming whenever I up shift or downshift. I am not talking up the sound that when you up shift too early.

I was wondering if anyone else has heard that sound. It doesn't sound that anything is wrong with the Transmission but just unsual.

I don't think I'd be much help, as I don't really use the manual mode in my car. I find the upshift/downshift control positions counterintuitive. My car has the 5 speed A/T, and I can't recall hearing any clicking noises during manual shifts. How loud are the clicks? Can you pinpoint the area from where they originate?

Just used the manual mode last night and cannot recall it. That is coming from inside the car?

Yes it is coming from inside of the cabin. It is like an electronic sound of the gear engaging when shifting in manual mode (if it makes sense). I am not sure if you can hear it or not. It just seems unusual

I use M often and have never heard a clicking... BUT shifting from 2-3 when accelerating hard, there is a clunk... Always been there. If accelerating moderate to slowly, there is no clunk... never a click.

Thank you guys. I took this matter to the dealership a few days ago and the guy who helped me was so clueless and did not know anything.
I will try a different dealership again and will report back. Thanks again
