Has anyone installed manual hubs on their pathy? If so, how hard is it? Can you provide instructions? Thanks!

I put Warn hubs on mine a few weeks ago. I did it when I took my winter tires&wheels off and summer wheels and tires on.

Pretty easy to do. I bought a snap ring pliers from harbor freight for ?5$, but have read of others taking the snap ring off using needle nosed pliers or just a couple flat blade screw drivers.

I did not need longer bolts, so I did not use the studs which come with the Warn hubs.

A few weeks before I changed out the hubs I sprayed penetrating oil on the nuts. I used "PB Blaster".

The first hub took me a while, maybe 30 minutes? The second hub took me 15 minutes or less.

I'm pretty sure there is only 1 part number for Pathfinders up to ? 2005.

Hey all...I called around to local 4wheel shops and they are quoting me three hours for labor installing the manual hubs! I was just checking around as I am not sure how comfortable I am doing it myself. But I think they are trying to get over on me...so how difficult is this job really?

It was not difficult. Direct swap (for me).

3 hours seems a bit much, but perhaps the shop is thinking of another type of vehicle or part (cv joint/half shaft?).

***Caution*** Before you swap out your hubs, make sure that your wheels will fit over the new hub. Some wheels will not fit without being modified.***

Edit-adding: Perhaps the wheels not fitting is a reason for the high hourly quote, the shop would need to bore out your wheel to fit, then that is a reasonable quote.

Would the Warn Premium Hubs (29091) fit my QX4?

It looks as though they will. You may, or may not get an error code (flashing 4x4 on your dash).

I believe that the idea that the front shafts need to be turning to pump oil has been shown false in in vehicles with the "all-mode" type transfer cases. By "All mode" I mean use buttons or dials, not a second shift lever for 4x4.

Question. I just got my Warn hubs and I noticed that there is only one cap screw holding the cap onto the end of the hub...is this correct? There are holes for five more. If not correct can I just pick up some screws? Not sure why each hub would only have one. Also, there was no other hardware that came in the kit....just hubs and retaining ring. Was I supposed to get any other hardware with it? I looked on site and cant tell...store is closed now too so I cant call.

Yeah, all 12 cap screws should've been included. Double check if the bag with hardware isn't inside one of the hubs or something, and contact the store.

Ditto above.

Also my kit came with new (longer) studs with nuts. I didn't need the longer studs-but used the new nuts.

If you do need longer studs, I would think about getting some better ones than come with the warn kit. I've read about them snapping off at very low torque (you don't need high torque though). You might even consider bolts if you can find matching thread.
