I moved my seat all the way back last night so I would have more room to install my new head unit. When I was done with everything and I reconnected the battery, the seat wouldnt' slide forward.

Its a manual seat, not an electric, and it seems like its locked. I've been reading about a switch that needs to be replaced, but can't believe that a manual seat would need a lock.

anyone have any ideas?

kthnx

Is there a cable connected to the handle that releases the locks on the sliders? Check that perhaps it broke or became disconnected

I am having the EXACT SAME problem!! I pushed it back to add a sub to my current head unit and now that the installation is complete, I can't move the seat forward. I looked under the seat and the locking mechanism is moving properly. It feels like only the right track is locked or blocked. I would just leave it but my legs aren't long enough to depress the clutch all the way. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Could it possibly have gone so far back to the point where it shifted off the track a little? Try holding the lever and shake the seat back and forth to see if it falls back into the tracks (if its even off track). This happend to my Lexus and I fixed it that way. I got really angry, so I kicked it really hard and it shifted back onto the track.
