No need to disassemble the DS, which is what you did. the piece in the transmission that's SUPPOSED to be a part of the DS, slides right out.
bolt it back together and pull it out as one piece.
its hard explaining this because this is common knowledge. DS are not Taken apart to be taken out or put in.
