**EDIT** MARCH 14, 2008

^^ coupe harness * 3 wires

^^vert harness * 2

soo the coupe harness works fine except the lock wiring, so if i cut the brownish wire on the coupe door harness and splice it to the vert harness this will make the plug fit, but will it power the locks missing one wire?

has anyone else used the vert harness on the coupe doors??

also on the doors should i cut the holes on the doors itself?

thankss!!

No, I did the door swap.

Answer 1Depending on the trim level of the coupe you're swooping the doors from, it is simply a bolt-on, plug in affair. You may need to splice in a different connector from the door wiring harness if they don't match. It's really easy.

Answer 2Sure, swap the cylinders. I have not yet done this, but it's something I have intentions of doing in the future. Either that or finding a coupe with matching steering column, doors, and trunk that I can just swap over... I don't know how hard it is, but it'll be worth the effort to only need one key for everything.

Answer 3Probably. Would it be worth it? Probably not. I think you'd be better off just finding a set of power doors to do the swap with. Just be patient and find a set of clean power doors from a coupe or hatch. You'll save yourself a lot of time and headache.

Just my $.02 - take it for what it's worth.

He already has the manual doors. The shells are identical between the manual and power doors, it's just the electricals that are different.

For my door swap, I plan on swapping the lock cylinders, power regulators, switches, and wiring harness from my vert doors over.

hey dexter! thx for all the info! everyone wants an arm and a leg for powerd doors here...even just the panels. its kinda crazy so i just decided to used my manual doors. as long as it looks clean.

-anyones .02 that is informational is worth more then that to me. [;

and hijacker, yea i was thinking of swapping all the power over to my manual doors. i haven't had the chance to look at them yet because of school and such, and i am going to texas for a week....bummer.

when i swap cylinders out, are there any wires/cables involved? or is this a screw and unscrew type of deal?

rate the difficulty form 1 - 10, 10 being the hardest.

sorry for the trouble guys, i appreciate it!

Would you happen to also be doing a write-up for that when you do it? If not, do you already know of one in existence? I may have to do it when I get around to doing the same thing if not.

I hadn't planned on doing a write up on it, but I suppose I could do one. I stripped the manual doors down to their shells a few years ago before i put them in storage, but I can at least do up the power window removal stuff.

Red. I haven't pulled out the power selenoids yet, so I can't comment on if it's a royal B or not. I can say with certain I do hate dealing with the all the bars and crap that are associated to the handles and locks.

I think this weekend, I'll be pulling the doors back out of storage to get them prepped up for paint and body with the rest of the car (hopefully to happen within the next 3-6 weeks)

DAMN IT! i just had the whole thing written up and EVERYTHING!!!

but i was too excited and didn't log in so the quick post was deleted.!! D'OH!!!!

but a quicker update

- i traded the manual doors for powered ones...figured the power would come in handy!

- swap was so easy.........<< after messing around with it and going through some trial and errors!

- i will try to make a write up on how to swap doors but keep your keys........!

so til thennn hang tight!!

You guys are good. I had to run some wires from door to cabin for power folding mirrors and it was tough. Space was tight, so I had hard time moving my hands especially on passenger side. But it was doable though.
