My Manifold-to-Turbo connection has come loose for the 6th time after properly installing it with brand new oem studs and lock bolts with locking plates. My mechanic and a few others told me its because my exhaust keeps pulling on my turbo, meaning I needed a flex pipe.

So the other day I put a flex pipe right after my downpipe where my cat used to be. I am scheduled to fix the Manifold-to-Turbo tommorrow, the mechanic works on a lot of turbo cars and owns a shop here in miami. He told me what he does in that situation is "weld the manifold and turbo together."

Now, is there anything bad about this? Has anyone else ever taken this step? I just put the flex pipe, so should I try to reconnect with the studs or just weld it and get it over with?

Those are the locknuts I have installed. I guess the vibrations and pulling on the turbo were still too much for them.

hmm if you've got the stage8 locking system in place and those let go, you've got other issues than it just being minor vibration. either 1. you guys didn't tighten the nuts down enough and then put on the locking tabs and clips on properly or my other guess is that the tabs weren't put on right. if you look at the way the way the stage8 locking system works, you'll see that it's highly unlikely that they'll just spin off if setup properly unless it happened to slice through your manifold or the edges of the nuts gave out which would mean that the studs on the other side would have sheared off or some other drastic series of events.
