Can some one tell me where the Manifold Pressure sensor is located on the sr20det. I am having trouble with the timing on my car and a mechanic friend of mine told me that it most likely has been messed up because I have my CAS all the way advanced and the timing is still retarded. He thinks that the MPS is messed up and the ECU is making the engine run at just standard base timing to keep it from detonating. I could really use some help so some one reply ASAS. Thanks

They have an AFM. If your AFM is bad, your ECU will go into safe mode. You will run extremely rich, not rev over 2500 rpms, your idle will suck, hardcore and the ECU will throw codes.

Tell me your mechanic checked the ECU for codes.

I fixed the problem by taking out the CAS and rotating it 1 tooth advanced. This made it so the timing was a little fast but I can live with it. It is weird move it 1 tooth forward and the slowest I can get it is probably arround 19deg and when I have it 1 tooth the other direction the fastest I can adjust it too is about 13 or 14ish and the car dosent have much power. not sure what I have to do to get it dead on but it is running pretty swell at the moment.

I have mine set at 18° BTDC and it loves it. Maybe this is a stupid question and insulting your intelligence, but are you reading the timing marks correctly?? A long while ago when I was setting my timing, I had it set at like 8° cause I didn't know which mark was which. :dunce

hehe yea...I know what the marks represent. The problem I am having is with the Cas not being in the right spot...its not easy to explain but I have no room for adjustment how it is right now.
