Hi all,
I'm having to replace the manifold gasket due to oil seepage/leaking. It's a small leak, but there is some smoking starting to happen.

I count 6 electrical connectors/harness on the cover, BUT I CAN'T SEEM TO REMOVE THEM. I know I've done similar connectors before, but I can't get them to come off. There is a small "hook" in the center that I thought you're supposed to depress, like with a screwdriver, but this doesn't seem to be working. When I've googled, it seems like people use needle nose pliers to press that center "hook".

Any tips here.

Thanks,

I've PB blastered stubborn connectors before... it seems to help. I've also used 2 sets of pliers. One to sort of pinch the release mechanism, the other to try to walk the connector backwards. I usually end up busting a knuckle or punching the bottom of the hood when the damn thing finally gives hahaha.

PapaSmurf,
When you say, "walk the connector backwards" I assume the female portion of the harness will need to get walked out?

Frustrating...

Yeah, whatever side isn't fastened down.
I generally try to hold each side with pliers so I don't overload whatever bracket the connector is clipped to. Then pull the 2 apart.
