Red Bull Cola is awesome. Back-to-basics with real Kola nut extract, real root extract (early colas were actually closely related to root beer) and real sugar. It's expensive as hell and worth every penny, a nice occasional alternative to Coke every once in a while.

I grabbed a can of Rockstar Energy Cola by mistake at the grocery store today, thinking it was regular Rockstar. I put it back, then decided..."What the hell?"

Results aren't good. It tastes like flat Shasta Cola. Worse, actually. It has a bitter medicine-y aftertaste that's downright horrible and had me checking the can to make sure I hadn't bought some artificially-sweetened sugar-free version...nope.

The real problem with Rockstar Cola is right there on the can: Energy cola. Red Bull's cola is NOT an energy drink. It has caffeine and nothing more "powerful" and the caffeine is used in "normal" quantities for a cola. Rockstar Cola still has all the energy crap like Ginko and Milk thistle, which I'm guessing combine to create the bitter aftertaste.

This stuff is truly horrible. Not just bad. It's like drinking cola-flavored Robitussin, except it won't get you loopy.

I haven't tasted the Rockstar Energy Cola but you are right about the Red Bull Cola. That stuff is so delicious. I use to drink energy drinks like a fiend until I realized how bad they were for you. Rockstar, Monster, Amp, all of those drinks are pure garbage for you, even Red Bull. Put all that stuff into your body for a energy boost is horrible. How about you eat right and exercise, that should give you 10x more energy than any drink for the day.
Water is the best drink of them all!

bah.

real jager bombs involve beer and jager...not this nancy redbull stuff.

if you need a mixer with Jager, go back to fuzzy navels and pen15 coladas.

I've been trying to cut out sodas (especially since I drink the diet stuff...it's probably even worse than the crap with HFCS)

I was real bad on energy drinks...all they really do is ruin your teeth and make you feel like crap afterwards...

5 hour energy is the way to go if you're driving non stop or whatever the hell you've been doing to not sleep.

I've been drinking more and more tap water. Flouride ftw. Our tap water isn't so bad here either.

5 hour energy doesn't do squat for me. Of course, neither do energy drinks, which is why I don't really drink them anymore.

Agreed. I've made many long road trips with this stuff keeping me awake. Tastes like crap though.

Pretty sure you also want the niacin. They warn about it on the bottle (something about feeling warm). I believe a little bit of niacin flush will help keep you awake.

I had Red Bull once when I was in HS and it tasted horrible, haven't touched anything with a Red Bull label since. Not a big Rockstar fan either but I'll drink it if there are NO Monsters. I don't even really drink Monster for the energy kick (It's never really had an effect on my energy and I've never crashed off it).

I tried the Rockstar Cola a couple weeks ago because a promoter gave my friend a free case if he put stickers on his truck. I hated it, took a couple sips and then gave it away. I have heard great things about the Lemonade one though I would really like to try it soon.

I'm all about LoCarb Monster though, I have tried all Monsters except a few of the Javas and Lo Carb takes the cake. 5hr Energy is only for when I actually need an energy boost though and only the Berry flavor the others suck.

However I am on a very strict diet (if you couldn't tell by the name) and DON'T drink soda. It's only Monster, tea, cranberry juice, and water for me :dblthumb:

I intend to live well past 100. And even then, when my pathetic mortal biological body gives in, I intend to have my brain placed in a jar/box/cymek/Trans Am with a lightbar in the cowl so that I can continue living even longer. And maybe oppress some puny humans.

When I read this I got that taste in my mouth, really bad.
I work at a gas station/convenience store at the moment so I get bored and experiment with every drink we have, and that one is really, terrible, reallly.
If any of you have trouble going to sleep, I recommend these: Image
I drank 2 thinking they wouldn't do much, ended up sleeping through the extremely loud alarm 2 feet away from my face.

I also like Red Bull Cola. If I'm going to drink a little sugar water, it might as well be interesting.

I'm gonna have to try that Neuro Sleep thing. I thought it was just my massive intake of energy drinks that kept me up at night, but I quit them for quite a bit and realized it was actually the insomnia that happens to rule a lot of my family on both sides of the tree. Exercise and teas don't help either

I have the same problem, but that may be just because I'm young and can run off of 4 hours of sleep daily. I'm not too happy about it though. All of the Neuro drinks do what they say they do to an extent, but the sleep one may as well be orange juice-ish flavored nyquil.

They say that Red Bull Soda has some Cocaine in it. Also Red Bull Cola is now being banned in Germany due to trace levels of Cocaine being found in the beverage. :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl
