Currently I am N/A with most of the turbo parts waiting to be installed. I have a muffler (installed by last owner, I have a full 3" SS exhaust waiting to go on with the turbo) short ram intake and a lightweight crank pulley.I installed a JWT ECU with an N/A tune a few weeks ago and got to try it tonight.

I was on 59 in Houston last night about 1 AM, no traffic at all and if you know 59 you know it is a 5-6 lane highway with walls on the side, at least the part I was on so no chance for cops at that particular place.

I decided to try the new rev limiter with the JWT and dropped to fourth and punched it. The car lurched forward and pulled hard all the way to redline. (7200rpm w/ JWT) It was awesome. If you've ever driven to the 113mph limiter you know it hits 110 and starts to slow down alot and eventually you hit 113 and fuel cut, so that's what i was expecting, but not so. It pulled so hard it shocked me and I was at redline extremely fast. After 7200 in fourth I shut down, my friend was pissing his pants. :)

I estimate it to have gone about 135 or so, which is pretty fast. The car felt solid all the way, I just did wheel balancing and alignment though.

Just thought I'd share, either the JWT did more powerwise than I thought or the stock ECU just slows down near speed limiter? I dunno. Just thought I'd share. There's nothing like having the speedo needle almost hit the bottom of the cluster and cover your trip odometer numbers :)

The JWT retune is DYNAMITE. I recommend it for almost any application, especially because for a minimum fee you can have it sent back and re-tuned for your turbo setup or whatever.

Nice little story, a few questions: Where did you pick up that JWT ECU and how much did you get it for?

When I got it I noticed a power difference across the board, but especially in the upper rpm where the car normally falls flat on it's face.

I bought it second hand for $250 shipped from a guy on these boards. I'm sending it in in a few days to be retuned for turbo/50lb injectors. DEFINATELY worth it for N/A, although I'm not sure I would pay the $600 for it N/A, turbo I would just for the program that I don't have to do and I can be sure the car will work fine.

ummm...well actually it will be $100 for JWT to re-tune it, to get a whole new one fitted and retuned it will be $600 plus anywhere from 1-3 months wait on their part. Re-tuning takes about 2 weeks, maybe 3.

So I'll be keeping my ECU, sorry.

Wow that's kind of weird, seeing as how I am not in Houston much and at that time on the same highway etc.

Plus I bought my Nismo leather shift knob from you. :) It is a small world.
