I feel so stupid reading this book. So remedial.

Example from the text I am reading:

"Matter is composed of submicroscopic particals called atoms. Atoms are incredibly small."

"Every atom has a central core called the nucleus that is orbited by a swarm of smaller particals called electrons."

"Gravity gives the Universe structure because it creates an attraction between all objects. For example, if you drop a book, the Earth's gravitational force makes the book fall."

HAHA. I mean seriously, professors need to stop insulting our intelligence. Esp at a school like mine. :oface

I wish someone would insult my intelligence instead of them assuming we know what we're doing. School sucks.

Ooo. I can't wait for the 2 intro classes i signed up for, Intro to Anthropology, and Intro to Linguistics. Is the latter hard? I hope it has some effect on my speech. Sometimes i find myself talking like Homestar when i used to be so articulate in highschool, i want to blame it on one of my ex-bf's, his english was terrible (at first) so i had to decipher it and 'think like him'

Whatever happened to teaching anyway? It seems most of my classes are either dumbed down, or they assume you know something you may have not been 'taught' before.

I took an Intro to Anthropology class the spring of my freshman year. It was actually an interesting class.

I'm taking Econ 1 (microeconomics) next quarter! Woo!!!

I took Econ 1B (macroecon) last year and only went to class the first day, the midterm, and the final. I had an easy A. I just hope we can turn in our homework online again though. They're making me waste my time taking this god forsaken class, least they can do is save me some gas money.

PS, other 3 classes:Spanish 4 (haven't taken spanish in 4 years, I hope I remember enough to pass)Intro to Ancient Greek Lit (might actually be ok)Compilers (yay for long nights in the computer lab!)

the joys of being a senior in college.... I have 4 easy general ed courses that don't matter and 1 real course that'll be enjoyable.

I have a couple classes where I patiently wait for the morons to drop out so the discussion can be elevated. But that doesnt always work. Its an 80% female university; usually theres 2-3 guys in every class, which usually has 15-25 people. For some reason, one guy in each class always thinks he should pretend to be cool and impress the women by being overtly outspoken. And there's nothing at all wrong with being outspoken... unless of course youre a dumbass.

Some of us pay the private tuition fees for small classes and fantastic professors so we can learn something. I intend to absorb every tidbit of knowledge and understanding -- partly out of interest, partly because I'm a cheap SOB who cant stand the thought of wasting money. :D

A small handful of students I guess slip in through admissions and think of it as full-time babysitting.

I love my third-year classes though. Slightly intimidating, not overwhelming enough to get lost in.

Anthropology is an easy major period. Its never offered in its entirety anywhere near here though. I should know i wanted to take it. Took as high as 300 level courses and got all A's. Oh well. Too bad my calc scores were'nt high...

I cant believe no on mentioned this....

Intro courses have the Hottest/easiest chicks in the whole damn campus. Smart enough to know what a d**k is, too stupid to know what you will do with it.

My school is a joke!

Its great!

If it continues going as it has been, I will have my associates in no time, and with little effort. And the effort that I did expell would have been fun.

I am majoring in Automotive Technology, so yea, its cool.

This is what happens when college admission standards drop. Why do most colleges become less and less selective? Money money money money money......... MONEY!

The truly unfortunate part is that it lowers the common denominator for the entire pool of college graduates. Think about it from the position of a human resources director or whoever is making hiring decisions at any particular job you might apply for. They've been to college... they have to wonder if you're one of those jobbers that sat in the back of their remedial intro to physics class... and STILL barely scraped by with a D.

Yeah, the higher level classes are all older folks. For example, in my upper business classes there's an infamous "row of old ladies" that always take the same classes and always sit in the same row together. They never talk to each other, so no one knows if theyre friends or if its just a strange concidence.

I would if I cared enough about the subject... but this is just to fulfill the two lab sciences in order to graduate. And this is also a prereq for most other astronomy courses.

My last year of college was comprised of 50% of 100 level classes. Math 125 rocks and boosts your grades. So do military sciences classes.bud
