hi all, newbie here and new to the car too....i have a 97 J30 with 98k miles. The 'Malfuction indicator' came on last sunday. i have a few question here:

1.) can i/we DIY getting the code?2.) is there a writeup in doing this procedure?3.) where is the ECU located?4.) is there a listing of code references?5.) can we reset this?

Heres my suggestion, take the car to autozone, they will check the codes for free...

hey, thanks for the post, i figured out what is wrong with the car.

it turns out that there are two problems to my car.

1.) Shift Solenoid B - Malfunction2.) Manufacturer Ctrl - transmission Malfuction

can I DIY fix any of these?
