I have a 1996 I30. Yesterday the Malfunction Indicator Light came on. According to the Owner's Manual, this could mean a problem with the fuel emission. What would this entail? How serious is this? How expensive to fix? My other question is whether this has anything to do with a problem I was having with the car a few weeks ago, in which it would idle roughly and then die when I stopped at an intersection. It would start right away, but then die again whenever I came to a complete stop. According to the mechanic, it was an idle control valve problem. It's been fixed, and it hasn't stalled since. But are these two issues related?
Thanks!
