While pondering the fate of my motor I was wondering what all I could do (meaning what all i could replace/add) to my motor to make sure when I put it in and turn the key that it runs decently and does so for a good while. I dont want to keep having to fix/ replace things every 4 days. Maybe a nice list on what should be taken care of/ looked at before the actual install is complete.

Thanks guys

Inspect the stock spark plugs and see if the electrodes haven't been smacked shut. Look inside the cylinders while they are in the up position and inspect for possible abnormalities. Also (if you can) run a compression test to see if each cylinder's sealing power is within operational limits. If you're feeling froggy, change the rod bearings as well.
