6 1/2 will prob be easier due to the fact that the holes are allready 4 x 6

i am in the same boat. i wanna put some 6x9's in the back of my s14, but not sure which approach to take on making the hole bigger. i talked to former_240_s14 and he said he just took tin snips to his and made the hole big enough for some 6x9's. i'll look at his setup and see if thats the road i wanna travel.....

I would stick to the 6 1/2, they'll produce better quality and you'll have a better library to choose from~! I talked to a friend of mine that used to be an Asst. Manager for GoodGuys, he told me to just pair up some 6 1/2s with good tweaters and crossovers and juice a JL W7 with a JL amp. He's a certified audio installation personel (or whatever you call them people), so I'll trust him in what he says. Just a thought....
