Okay, I finally got my car to idle when pulling the TPS plug to set timing. I had to adjust my fuel to +50 on the AFC, which was still lean, but it ran. After reving the engine up 3 times, the idle settled between 700-750, and was surging slightly between those numbers. After 20 seconds, the idle would climb to 900-950, again surging between those numbers. I got the timing set while it was at 750 or so to 16 degrees btdc. When it raised to 900, it also raised the timing to 20 dtdc.

Anyone know what would cause this (the slow rise in RPM with TPS disconnected) When I reconnected the TPS, the idle went back to 700- about 725. Before all this, my didn't seem to like to idle below 800. The last time I set the timing, I had some issues with the idle set so low, and I had to raise it up to 800 again to get it to idle correctly. I'm thinking this has something to do with my problems right now.

I'm having kinda the same issue right now... Except I just set my car to 18-btdc and had it idle at 700, After the TPS is back in the car will idle at 1000 and die if I put in the clutch when driving...

Also with my TPS unplugged the car would not rev past 2500 it would almost die and backfire bad.

I'm thinking it has something to do with the IACV. I have a spare motor, so I'm going to pull it and swap them over. I wont be able to do it till next week though, but I'll post if that fixes anything

lmao I was just thinking it was my IACV... I unplugged it and my car idles great... I plug it in and it wants to idle super high and does stupid things...

I also did all the voltage and resistance checking on my throttle position and it looks good...

I knew this was going to happen... I just got done replacing my moms IACV on her 95 maxima. Easy to get too. I have no idea where mine is at this moment.

EDIT: $190 for it from nissan...

I haven't tried unplugging mine. I hope the one from my old motor is still good. I don't know how I'm going to get that damn thing off, I can barely get my hands back there!!! lol At least this is sounding promising as towards the cause of the problem.

I was going to call a junk yard and get one... But I think it’s worth the extra cash to not replace it for another 130k. I'll be going by Nissan after work to order a new IACV and Crankshaft position sensor. (Not related but the code is pissing me off)... Once I get mine in I'll tell ya how it worked… Unless you get done first that is.

Ya know if it’s not a mod gone wrong it’s a damn sensor or valve blowing up. Sheesh… What a troublesome hobby.

Finally hit boost today. Turns out my front O2 sensor was bad and giving me problems. I took the output from the LM-1 and it fixed a lot of issues. Still going to replace the IACV next weekend though. Hit 7-8 psi, pulls real strong, can't get good traction due to wet roads here. AFR was 10.5, so I know I have some more tuning to due for more power. Car ran well though, which is all I can ask for. Boost comes on around 2k, so no lag. I can hit full boost in 4th gear at just over 2k RPM Thanks for the replies everyone.
