Making my own strut braces

General discussion forum about the 240sx, and a great place to introduce yourself to the board!

Well i made front and rear strut tower braces today. The rear is made of 1'' square stainless steel tubing and the front is made of 3/4'' conduit. Im gona post pics once i get my camrea working again. Next project is a cone air filter adapter. BTW what is the diameter of the outlet of a cone filter? i need to know what size pipeing i will need.

What year are your cars? I would love to see the pic's. Since I don't want to pay $130+ for the rear strut bar for my car!

Most all common filter sizes have a 3" opening. Post some pics as soon as you get done with the brace

dude, just look on ebay they are pretty cheap there. if you really want to i can make you some for like $10 plus shipping. you could probably do it yourself, its not that hard. i used 1'' conduat pipe for the front and 3/4'' for the rear. the front you have to make to small bends towards the end to clear the motor. the back you have the cut a little sheet metal on the car. there is an article about it in the faqs section, ill get some pics up so you can see what im talking about.

go to http://www.knfilters.com and go to the section on universal filters. theres a massive chart and you decide how big you want it, and how big you want the opening. then go to the dealer locator page and find a local one. peace-sean
