Ok so people say the difference between the stock G35 intake and the 350z Intake is the baffle right??From what I understand the baffle is just a hole in the intake tube that makes it quieter? if you take off the G35 tube and plug that hole it would make it the same as a Ztube right? (a little smaller in diameter but still the same)

cheap $2 mod? do you guys have any pictures of what the difference is between the two intakes?

Also what size pipeing is the Ztube.. ? Can't I just get a cheap aluminum intake pipe (same size) off ebay and it would do the same thing as the Ztube right?

Nope.

The Z-tube is less convoluted and has the proper fittings you'll need.

Just buy one, they're only $50. You'd spend that on a cheap ebay intake and it won't fit right.

My Z-tube will be here tonight. I'll take exact measurments and pictures. Should be really easy to duplicate, and I'll get you the info.

The problem with making your own z-tube is it has an attachment to the plenum that holds it in place....that will be a pain to replicate.

I made a "ram air" for my Firebird formula with drainage tube. I routed it from the center noise inlets to my CAI in the fenderwell. It worked fairly well...LT1's had the "1LE intake elbow" that got rid of the baffle. We also had a ported-MAF mod that removed the screen from the MAF. There were many different opinions on if it was good or not. I did it to mine and was happy with the results. Also did the coolant mod...thermostat mod...headers...LT4 km...shift kit...man, what a sickness!

I digress...Whatever you do, take some pics!

Try your local Nissan Dealer.Mine had NISMOed a few Z's with CAI, decals, and other stuff, so they had a take-off Z-tube in the back.

I paid $15 for one of mine.

When we got the 2nd G, I wasn't as patient and paid more cause they didn't have one at that time and I wanted it NOW!!!

Worth a few phone calls to see.....

Wrong, try..... YEP.

Nothing convoluted about the CAI tube I got off of ebay for only $11. Came with all hardware, hooked up just fine, and nothing convoluted about it.

Well, other than the fact that it's freaking GREEN!

And mine won't be here until tomorrow, since nobody was home to sign for it.

I have that kit, it was actually installed at the Stillen shop. Nice upgrade but I'm still looking for the intake leak. It makes a whistling noise during acceleration.
