LOL - Lessee... Work 40 hours at my 9-to-5, run 2 businesses (NICO / BRM), raise 3 awesome kids, play chauffer for football practice and games, take care of my wife (who's been ill), work on my cars, church (occasionally), and every once in a while I sneak out to the garage to fab up something cool and write an article about it.

its a good idea..... but i'm thinking that the solid bolt is going to act like a solid mount and transfer ALL vibration and torque to the chassis.

maybe inserting 2 seperate off set bolts with 2 washers on the end?? jsut let us know how it goes.

Definitely thinking the same...

Also, our G20 needs new motor mounts, and those damn things are EXPENSIVE. I'll be trying this with those as well...

The MMR mounts are very rigid from what I've been told. They are supposedly the same hardness as a rollerskate wheel. Gregs should provide more flex and less vibration since they use a polyurethane like material.

The old hotrodders used to use hockey pucks for mounts and I'd imagine hockey pucks supporting a big lopey V8 would lead to some major vibration.

I'll need to try that soon...as long as I can find some flexane. My mounts are going bad.

Ah, sorry. Yes, an update would be good!

OK, at idle, it's a little rougher than the Nismo mounts were. Good thing we went overboard having this rotating assembly balanced.

Once I accelerate, it smooths right out, and feels smooth as ever. Believe it or not, the car actually feels more "solid" or "well-planted".

I'll be inspecting them after every drive for a while to ensure they're holding up well, but I did several full-throttle runs and it felt great.

Latest update:

300 miles since installation, and these are awesome.

I have had to tighten them a couple times, as it seems the little "ridges" on the mounting surface compress a little as it heat cycles.

Notice how the top and bottom of the mount were concave, due to the meniscus of the Flexane when wet (top) and the shape of the cup (bottom).

Nonetheless, I'm super-happy with how they're working out.

I read the process of making these and have come with an improvement...

The cuts on the washer should not be rough. In fact, you should try to round off the edges as much as possible so they do not rip slowly through the black stuff with the vibration. I had a similar problem with mounts I have made for a generator recently.

Cheers and good luck!
