Yesterday I saw something heartbreaking. A woman drove by me in a 350, and it looked a bit funny, but when I got behind her at the light I realized what it was. The car had been in a HORRIBLE hail storm. It litterally looked like a golf ball. It was big hail too. There were two places where the tailights had holes in them that were about 2-3 inches in diameter. I doubt that car will ever be right. :tisk:

Really sad.

It's the one thing I've really been fearing about on my car when I park at work. I don't mind driving in the torrential downpours we've been having on this half of the Volunteer state, but the hail...ugh. Last week (?) near Bristol there were reports of 2.7" (tennis ball sized) hail. Yikes! That's big enough to knock you out!

So scary. I was driving home a couple of weeks ago and we had all kinds of tornado warnings. I was driving as fast as I could to get in my garage. About 5 miles from home these huge raindrops started hitting the car.

:ohno:

I was so afraid that hail was going to follow. Made it home safe and sound though. I think we are into the hot swealtering draught season now.

Holli & I are both from the midwest and trained weather spots, ie: weather geeks. She even wants to go on a storm chasing vacation since she's never seen a tornado, I've seen more than my share - three of them far closer than I ever should have.

We've gone lokoing for heavy weather in the Xterra on a few occasions but I've never even considered it in the Z. And it's not even about which vehicle ends up getting damaged, it's about being in a vehicle that can get you out of a particularly hairy situation.

Oh BB....BTW, I wanted to show you something. You called me a "noob" in a thread before. I'm not a noob, just been away from the Z way too long. This pic was taken in 1980. This is me and my 77 280Z. I loved that car!

My hubby took that of me when we were dating. Our 30th anniversary is in August. I had my son, who is a photographer, take a pic of me and my new Z and he is going to make me a pic with both images on it. I'm going to give that to David for our anniversary. I'm going to put "30 years Z to Z" on it. :)

Well....I was lucky enough to find the only fella in the world that would put up with me and all my cars. BTW Ace, you never said anything about my "other Z". You not a fan of American Muscle?

Actually, I was about 5 minutes from trading straight up for a '91 IROC-Z Convertible. I would have had so much fun in that, but it didn't run as well as my 2+2.... :/

I love me some large displacement though :)

Theres no replacement for displacement. ;)

Nothing sounds better than that LT-1 going under an overpass with the supercharger whine and the open Borla exhaust.

:woot:

I've tried to sell it, but I start to cry every time I do so it just sits there in the garage gathering dust. Need to get the oil and plugs changed and the a/c charged. It is hard to keep 2 cars up.

It's even harder to keep 2 Z32's up :P

I'm about to get a GSX-R 600 though, so that'll help with fuel costs. I'm most likely gonna be selling the 2+2 as well, so there's the payment for the bike loan.

You have probably wondered why I'm always calling people honey and sweetie. :lolling: That is a southern thing. Why do you think BB and I need to move to Chicago??? If I moved up there, I'm sure I would learn how to use my heated mirror. ;)

At least up here, you wouldn't have to deal with hurricanes, tornadoes, etc. :D
Plus you can feel the snow, salt, and frigid temperature. Also dodging potholes and speed bumps. Haahaah

I used to live there before I moved down here to TN, but I'm actually a Hoosier. :)

I think Kuhan clued in on that when he mentioned lowering his car, new wheels and the body kit and I asked if Willow Road was the nightmare that it used to be. :) I love me some Chicago, but if I didn't move I was bound to get kicked out...

...I'm a Cardinals fan. :)

PS: That photo of you is great...PURE 70's! I love it! Sorry it took me jokingly calling you a noob to get it posted here. :(

No prob, BB.

Did the bell bottoms give me away. :lolling:

That car was a hoot to drive. It didn't have power steering. You really had to man handle it. I loved it. Lived in Shreveport, LA then. The fuel pump went out one time and it took a week for a new one to come in from Japan. Things were so different then.
