I had an idea, but I need some help.

Since I have that button for my trunk that pops it, I was hoping to find a way to hook up springs or some kinda of hydraulic to make it fully open after its been popped. Any ideas?

I've seen gas charged pistons, but those are for holding things open, I want something that will open the trunk up for me when I press the button.

The reason for this is because I was planning on putting a remote start system in it with a keyfob that utilizes the current alarm system, but the fob will also pop the trunk and I thought it would be snazzy to have this all automatic!

Any ideas would be appreciated. And btw, the forum looks great! :dogpile:

Regards,
Jack

You could either do it with a linear actuator with motor with would just use electricity to push it open after the switch is activated or use the gas shocks like the hatch has to lift it up. There are plenty of kits out there for other cars. Maybe Bob at Versaspeed can ask NRG about developing a kit for the sedan. They have hood dampers for the Versa and Cube already. That will probably be the cheapest solution also.
